The legendary Ford Mustang remains the best-selling sports car on the crest of six decades in the business. S&P Global Mobility orchestrated the analysis that recognized the Ford sports car as the world’s most famous sports car for the last decade. The tremendous distinction was uncovered during S&P’s examination of registration data for the American automaker.

“We’re proud of the entire Mustang family, what it represents to Ford, and especially our passionate Mustang owners and fans. It’s our commitment to serving Mustang’s global community, from Atlanta to Adelaide and beyond, that has earned Mustang the honor of world’s best-selling sports car for ten years combined.”

 – Vice President of Enthusiast Vehicles for Ford Blue and Ford Customer Service Division, Dave Bozeman

According to Ford’s internal data, the ‘Stang has the States in awe, harboring 78 percent of worldwide purchases. In addition, other countries such as Germany saw 17 percent, Britain 14 percent, Switzerland almost 15 percent, and the Middle East attained an 8 percent increase in 2022 sports car sales.

Then there’s the forthcoming 2024 Ford Mustang ushering in the seventh generation with a new chapter in the book of the sports car legacy. Yet even with a new chapter, the storybook stays the same for the world’s best-selling sports car. Other models of the Mustang, such as the drop-top or coupe, manual or automatic, V8 or turbocharged 4-cylinder, allow enthusiasts to acknowledge and appreciate that a great time may be relished in multiple price points and performance levels.

Since we’re on the subject of engines, the Ford sports car is available through two new engines, a 2.3-liter EcoBoost or the Carolina Reaper of performance, the 5.0-liter Coyote V8. The new Remote Rev feature also permits drivers to rev up the engine through the key fob and the available new Electronic Drift Brake, which turns a novice into a professionally trained Drifting stunt driver.

The upcoming Mustang Dark Horse expands the lineup as the first new performance vehicle since Ford’s 2001 Mustang Bullitt. In addition, the Ford Mustang Dark Horse devotes its performance to a better record on the road and track. A record-breaking performance record can be achieved through the extensively modified 5.0-liter V8, which generates 500 horsepower

The Ford Mustang is available in 39 countries, including Taiwan and Australia. The new and popularly solicited Mustang Mach-E enriches the sports cars’ acclaim. The American automaker assembled its 150,000th Mustang Mach-E, with assemblage commencing less than two years ago. Another tremendous milestone for the Blue Oval, devoted to growing electric vehicle production to 600,000 units yearly by the end of 2023, is the projected growth of 2 million units by 2026.
