Ford Announces Expansion of BlueOval Charging Network
The BlueOval network is not a conventional charging network that operates exclusively through proprietary charging stations, such as ChargePoint or EVgo. Instead, Ford has established strategic relationships with Blink, Francis Energy, and Red E, resulting in a network of charging stations that spans the United States and Canada. This vast network provides Ford’s electric vehicle customers with an extensive and convenient charging experience, contributing to improved accessibility and reliability of electric vehicles.
BlueOval Network
Ford has been expanding its network of charging stations to accommodate the growing number of electric car owners. The charging network for electric vehicles has made significant progress in recent years, with over 106,000 charging stations now available, including 11,800 fast charging stations. This number is expected to grow even more in the coming years as more and more people switch to electric vehicles.
In a significant development, Ford has announced that its EVs will soon be compatible with Tesla’s Supercharger network, thanks to an adapter that will be available for vehicles manufactured until 2024. This means that even current Ford EV owners will be able to use Tesla’s charging network.
