Jurassic Park Ford Explorer: 1992 Tribute Up for Auction

The most unforgettable scene involving this Ford Explorer occurred when it encountered a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Since then, fans have created numerous tributes and replicas of the Jurassic Park Ford Explorer, including the one described here.
This 1992 Ford Explorer, now available for sale on Bring a Trailer, is another homage to the iconic vehicle. Initially painted in Medium Mocha Metallic, the thirty-two-year-old explorer is transformed with a red, green, and yellow Jurassic Park-style livery. It features yellow Plasti-Dip coated wheels and body side moldings, a front brush guard, a roof rack, taillight guards, and auxiliary lighting, closely resembling the famous movie car.
The interior remains original primarily, with Light Sandalwood leather seats and amenities like air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, locks, mirrors, and the original AM/FM/cassette stereo. The Ford SUV is powered by a naturally aspirated Ford 4.0L V6 engine, delivering 160 horsepower to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it comes with fun extras such as a Jurassic Park brochure, a LEGO model, walkie-talkies, and replica movie prop night-vision goggles.
Over the years, several other Jurassic Park-themed Ford Explorers come up for sale, including one auctioned in October 2020, fetching $18,500 and reappearing on the market shortly after that.
