The United Auto Workers (UAW) union, comprising almost 150,000 members who assemble domestic vehicles for automakers like Ford, went on strike from midnight on September 14 (2023), the first major strike since 2019, when nearly 50,000 GM workers went on a 40-day strike.

A prolonged strike by an auto union could impact the availability of specific models, such as the Ford Bronco, in terms of trims, colors, or options for enthusiasts who appreciate a tailored experience. As production lines go idle, the choices may become limited or unavailable.

In addition to impacting the manufacturing of new cars, a UAW strike could also result in the shutdown of parts production. The strike could lead to limited parts availability at dealerships for routine maintenance and fewer replacement parts for body shops.
