FordPass Connect App Will Feature Remote Control Parking

Ford will be introducing a new feature for its FordPass Connect app. Used to monitor Ford vehicles, the FordPass Connect app serves as an all-in-one tool to help Ford owners better navigate and control their vehicles. As of late, Ford has been working on improving the app to feature additional services like a start/stop function. Based on some new images discovered in the app, it seems that Ford will also be implementing a new remote control parking feature. Ford has not yet commented on these new images, but the rumor is that it will serve as a new feature to be used with the all-new all-electric F-150 Lightning. We’ll look at some of the additional features available within the app, but if this feature is confirmed, it will make the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning all the better.
Potential New Feature: Remote Control Parking
Ford has been improving its FordPass Connect app for some time. Serving as an all-in-one tool, the Connect app allows Ford owners to access convenience features and services. For Ford’s latest update of the app, they implemented some new features along with several images. These images seem to indicate a remote parking feature that will enable a Ford vehicle to park itself. This has caused a lot of excitement as many are speculating that it will be a remote control parking feature available for the new F-150 Lightning. Looking at the images, it seems some were labeled ‘freeDrive,’ but it’s unclear whether this was simply the feature name or something else related to the electric pickup. Either way, it’s a cool feature and we can’t wait for Ford to elaborate on it.
Ford’s FordPass Connect app comes available for vehicles produced in 2017 and later. The app service connects Ford owners to their vehicles by allowing them to check their oil life, fuel level, charge level (if they have an EV), and general maintenance status. The app also allows Ford owners to take advantage of convenient features like remote start/stop, remote lock/unlock, and vehicle location. Owners can also utilize the new Pro Power Onboard feature which comes available with the newer F-150 models.
For now, Ford’s Connect app serves as the vehicle portal for Ford owners. If the new remote control parking feature is confirmed, this will be a huge plus for Ford F-150 Lightning owners. The electric pickup has already received an overwhelming amount of pre-orders, so this new feature should help maintain the excitement. We’ll be staying tuned to see if this new feature makes its way to other Ford vehicles.
