Ford Maverick: Now Easier to Find Than Ever Before

October 19th, 2023 by

The Ford Maverick pickup trucks have been highly sought after in the automotive industry for almost three years. Due to their popularity, they have been challenging to find and often sold first come, first serve because of the demand. Fortunately, the Blue Oval automaker is now producing more of these pickups, making them more readily available for purchase.

Ford has recorded an impressive sales figure of approximately 24,000 units for its Maverick model in the third quarter (2023). This figure represents an increase of 83.4 percent compared to the previous quarter, a notable achievement for the automaker. Despite the high demand for the Maverick, the model has been hard to find since its launch. In fact, buyers placed orders for every unit of the 2022 edition even before the first one had reached the dealership, and the 2023 model sold out just six days after its release. Earlier this year (2023), Ford announced that it would not be able to meet the demand for the truck this year, as well.

The Maverick’s success could be attributed to its timing, as automakers had stopped selling genuine midsize pickup trucks for almost a decade. As trucks grew ever larger, the segment of the buying public that wanted an open bed but not a giant vehicle were left with nothing to buy. The Maverick finally appeared to fill that gap in the market during the 2022 model year and beyond,  proving midsize trucks still sell.

The Maverick’s lower price point and the availability of a hybrid drivetrain could also be responsible for its popularity. The hybrid drivetrain accounts for more than 56 percent of the Maverick’s sales figures, indicating consumers are interested in fuel-efficient vehicles. Furthermore, the Maverick’s starting price of around $20,000 (plus destination fee)  makes it one of the most affordable pickup trucks on the market.

The Maverick has been a significant success for Ford, and the automaker’s decision to produce a genuinely smaller pickup truck paid off. The high demand for the Maverick and its affordable price and fuel-efficient features have made it a popular choice among buyers.

The Maverick is a truck that provides a comfortable ride, but it leans more towards a truck-like feel. The seats are designed to be firm and supportive, making them comfortable for long trips.

One of the standout features of the Maverick is its impressive interior, which consumers love. The model has a standard 8-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Connecting is quick and easy, ensuring drivers stay connected while on the road. Although adaptive cruise control is available, it’s only standard on the top Lariat trim.

The Maverick’s party piece is the massive number of cubbies and interior storage areas. The doors can accommodate large water bottles, and the rear under-seat storage is relatively spacious. It also has all sorts of valuable dividers in the large center console, making it easy to organize items. The Maverick has mastered small-item storage, making it a great choice for drivers who need to carry a lot of small items.

The Maverick’s maximum towing and payload capacities are impressive for a small vehicle. It can tow up to 4,000 pounds and carry a payload of up to 1,500 pounds. The truck also offers a four-pin and seven-pin connector and an integrated trailer brake controller, ensuring that drivers have everything they need to tow their trailers.
