Nestled inside a metal storage garage hidden behind a wind tunnel building in Allen Park, Michigan, a handful of innovators gathered in 2021 for a new, after-hours mission that, on paper, felt like an impossible dream. The Blue Oval engineers designed a Mustang to take on the best of European sports cars. They were determined to create a vehicle that was powerful, agile, stylish, and eye-catching. Ford engineers considered every detail carefully with every decision made to achieve perfection. It was a challenging task, but the Blue Oval team was up for it; little did they know their hard work would pay off. After months of hard work and countless late nights, it’s time to unveil the masterful creation, a Mustang that was truly one of a kind.
A limited-edition, ultra high-performance street legal performance car with the soul of a Mustang, known as the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD, is breathtaking. The Mustang GT3 inspires the sports car’s design, and it’s set to race in Le Mans next year (2024). The Ford vehicle comprises carbon fiber and has a wide body and a fierce rear wing.

The Mustang GTD is truly impressive, especially with its new Variable Traction Control technology in track mode. The track mode feature allows drivers to test the car’s limits by quickly adjusting the engine output and traction control. Stang enthusiasts can make adjustments without the driver needing to remove their hands from the wheel; meaning enthusiasts can match the track conditions to their driving ability.

Plus, enthusiasts can add some cool features like 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, rotary dial shifters, and serial plates. Even more remarkable is that all of these features are made from retired Lockheed MartinTM F-22TM titanium parts. Furthermore, the rear seating area has been removed to reduce weight and increase cargo space.
Production of the Mustang GTD will be limited, and pricing is expected to start at approximately $300,000 MSRP* (which excludes taxes and destination fees). Production will commence at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant and from there to the Multimatic facilities in Markham, Canada, where it will be handcrafted for racing-inspired precision by the Ford Performance and Multimatic teams. So, expect the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD to be available by late 2024 or early 2025.
