A 2022 Ford Maverick Off-Road Trim Could Be in the Works
Ford’s hybrid pickup has been receiving a lot of attention and praise lately. The 2022 Ford Maverick is the first standard full hybrid pickup to be offered in America. It makes the best of Ford technology and provides consumers with a more environmentally friendly pickup. Ford’s vision for the new 2022 Ford Maverick was to create a compact pickup that offers drivers power and style. Lately, there have been rumors of new trims in the work. This includes an off-road trim and a potential sport trim. Maverick fans have been adamant online about a new trim since the Maverick offers a lot of versatility. If Ford does decide to offer a new off-road trim, it would most likely be similar to that of the Ford Explorer Timberline. We will have to wait and see, but it seems likely that 2022 Ford Maverick fans will have the opportunity to get a 2022 Ford Maverick Timberline.
New Off-Road Trim for the 2022 Ford Maverick
The 2022 Ford Maverick is a versatile yet powerful hybrid pickup. It features a 2.5L full hybrid engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It also features a hybrid powertrain and front-wheel drive. The hybrid pickup can also be equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine. Given the fluidity of the pickup, many fans have begun discussing potential new trims, one of which is an off-road trim. The 2022 Ford Maverick offers an FX4 off-road package that includes front tow hooks, hill descent control, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and various drive modes.
The 2022 Ford Maverick provides consumers with a lot of versatility as they can alter their pickup depending on their lifestyle or desired preferences. A dedicated off-road Ford Maverick trim would offer much more capability, however. It also seems tough and rugged vehicles have grown in popularity given the Ford Bronco, Ford Ranger, and the Ford F-150 Tremor and Raptor.
Since most Ford vehicles offer an off-road trim, it seems likely the 2022 Ford Maverick will receive one as well. This new trim would most likely be the 2022 Ford Maverick Timberline. Similar to the Ford Explorer Timberline, the new Maverick off-road trim would feature a new suspension tune along with new wheels, the Timberline badging, new color coatings, and revised front and rear fascias. A more rugged 2022 Ford Maverick would increase the tow rating and payload and would also make it easier to tackle even tougher terrain.
The base trim 2022 Ford Maverick will be available in the fall of 2021 at an MSRP of $19,995 (plus destination fees). Those looking to upgrade certain features can opt for a Maverick XLT or Maverick Lariat, depending on preference. For those looking out for new off-road trim, patience will be key. The XLT trim is $22,280 MSRP (plus destination fee) and the Lariat trim is $25,490 MSRP (plus destination fee) so an off-road trim would likely be in between these amounts.
