Car and Driver recently awarded the 2022 Ford Bronco with its 10Best SUV award. This comes after their analysis of the four-by-four SUV and its host of modern features and driver-assist technologies. As an off-road vehicle, the Bronco more than outperforms. Ford offers either a turbocharged 2.3L inline-four or a twin-turbo 2.7L V6 engine both of which have plenty of torque. The 2022 Bronco features Ford’s unique G.O.A.T Mode (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) which is the ultimate in off-road performance. This along with the Bronco’s 37.2-degree departure angle and 11.6 inches of ground clearance allow the Bronco to brave the toughest of terrain.
Ford’s 2022 Bronco also features a modern interior. Ford allows the option to remove the doors and even the roof so enthusiasts can feel the breeze as they take on the road with their Bronco. Inside the Bronco, owners will note a cockpit inspired by the first-generation Bronco. This classic look features modern gauges and controls that present information to drivers. An infotainment screen also comes standard that works with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Consumers can opt for either two-door or four-door seating and these come available with leather seats or marine-grade vinyl seats depending on the trim. The 2022 Bronco also features an off-road switch pack that includes several standard features. Some of these include sway bar disconnect, front and rear differential lock, trail turn assist, electronic stability control, and hazard lights.
The 2022 Ford Bronco starts at an MSRP of $29,300 (plus destination fee). This returning icon has been very popular among off-road enthusiasts as well as those seeking a nostalgia trip to simpler times. Ford has announced several new trims for the iconic SUV so that will probably stir up even more hype. Given its features though, it’s safe to say the Bronco definitely earned its Car and Driver 10Best award.
